In 2015 the ground-breaking This Girl Can campaign was launched to celebrate a realistic vision of women and exercise in England and to tackle the gender activity gap. This Girl Can aims to change how women think and feel about exercise - and encourage women to be active in ways that work for them, regardless of age, background or ability.
At a local level, it encourages organisations and communities to come together to create physical activity and exercise opportunities that work for women and girls.
On 5 January 2026, ‘This Girl Can in North Herts’ will bring together local opportunities for women and girls. More information will be added to this web page as opportunities are confirmed so keep popping back when you can.
Why not join thousands of women who want to become more active by taking small steps whenever you want, in ways that work for you?
Are you an organisation already providing women and girls physical activity and exercise, or looking to? Contact communitywellbeing@north-herts.gov.uk to join us.
