Free NHS Health Checks

If you're aged 40-74 you can have a free health check to assess your heart health, cholesterol levels, blood pressure and risk of diabetes. Your personal advisor can also help with information on diet, physical activity, smoking, alcohol and risk reduction. To be eligible you must:

• Be aged 40-74
• Live in Hertfordshire or be registered with a GP in Hertfordshire
• Have NOT received an NHS Health Check in the last 5 years
• NOT have inherited high cholesterol (familial hypercholesterolaemia)
• NOT be taking cholesterol lowering medication
• NOT have had a stroke, heart failure or peripheral arterial disease
• NOT have diabetes or chronic kidney disease
• NOT have diagnosed high blood pressure or atrial fibrillation (fast irregular heartbeat)
• NOT have been diagnosed with a risk of 20% or more of having a heart attack or stroke in the next 10 years.
